The Northern Berkshire Interfaith Action Initiative is a grassroots organization formed in May 2010, as an all-volunteer group of persons of faith and others of goodwill with the goal of providing a safety net to those in need in our communities with openness, friendliness, and most importantly, dignity and respect.
The Al Nelson Friendship Center Food Pantry is our main program. The pantry provides healthy and nutritious supplemental food to those in our community experiencing food insecurity. We also run an Emergency Voucher Assistance Program funded by the local faith community. Emergency vouchers are available once per year for gas, food or lodging.
Anyone in need is eligible to receive food and we do not discriminate for any reason.
The pantry is a member agency of the Western Massachusetts Food Bank in Hadley, MA.
